OUR WORK
Our design involves a bi-propellant liquid rocket engine and a tool named THRUST which helps to accumulate various design equations and empirical data with other parameters to help create preliminary design parameters for the user with minimal input data.

The input data such as payload weight, change in velocity requirement and geometric constraints coupled with empirical data on fuel will be used to process and display the required output design parameters. The tool was tested for various input conditions and the limits and scope of the tool was determined. The tool is coded in MATLAB.

This tool would be suitable for use in the conceptual design phase. The primary motivation for developing this tool is to provide the launch vehicle designer with a “quick-look design study” to support propulsion system trade studies. Of importance in performing such trade studies is maintaining the appropriate level of fidelity and computational time.
